Visa Credit Cards
These
are secured Visa
credit cards from one of Latvia's oldest
banks, PrivatBank.
As well as the Visa Classic they
also offer the Gold, Gold mini, Electron,
Express,
Plus and Credit Card "Universal"
versions on this payment platform as either
credit
or debit cards.
Cards
are available to non-residents of Latvia.
However, a visit to the bank is
necessary.
Even though online banking is available
once an account has been
opened the
account cannot be opened in this way.
Card
accounts can be operated in US$ or Euros.
Credit card opening fees for the
Classic
and Gold types are 100 & 150
Euros respectively with annual fees
the same.
Minimum security deposits
are 1000 & 2000 Euros respectively
and the equivalent
in US Dollars should
you opt for this currency instead. The
interest rate is 14% per
annum on any
credit line granted.
The
bank also offers multi-currency current
accounts to non-residents in either
Euros
and US Dollars.
