Cards
These
are secured MasterCard credit cards
from the Latvian SMP Bank that come
in
either the Standard or Gold versions.
They
can come in 3 different currencies (Euros,
US$ or LVL (Latvian Lats)).
Both
credit cards are issued free of charge.
The annual interest rate on the line
of credit granted is 18% for both.
The
annual fee for the Standard MasterCard
(non-residents) is 50 Euros, 60 US$
or 35 LVL depending on the currency
chosen. Similarly the annual fee for
the Gold
MasterCard is either 80 Euros,
100 US$ or 60 LVL.
There
are fees for ATM withdrawals and other
transactions on both the Standard
and
Gold MasterCards and also daily ATM
and purchase limits for both types of
card.
The
security for these credit cards can
come from either a security deposit
placed
with the bank or funds blocked
in an SMP
bank current
account which can also be
opened (by
non-residents) with this Latvian bank.
Additional
cardholders can also be added to the
accounts. e.g. for family members.
A
Business (& Gold) version of this
secured MasterCard is also available
to
companies.
SMP Bank also issues International
Maestro debit cards to individuals

customers).
