This
is a basic savings account from the Halifax that allows unlimited
withdrawals
and deposits
and
can be managed
through any branch, by phone
or online. It
comes
with
a passbook and optional cash card.
There
is a minimum £1 opening deposit and
the account is available to anyone
who
is a UK resident and aged 11 or over.
If you wish to manage the account
online
then you must be at least 16.
Currently
the Halifax are offering bonus interest
of 1.5% for the first 12 months
of
the account being opened, taking the rate
to 2.0% gross AER. Interest can
also
be paid
monthly.
The
Halifax also offer a selection of other
savings accounts which currently pay
some
of the best introductory or fixed rates
of interest of any bank or building
society
in the UK.

you probably know, the
Halifax (known today as HBOS) is a major
