This
is a French current bank account offered
by the French bank Credit Agricole
which
is available to those in the UK provided
certain criteria are met.
To open this
account
you will need to be either a resident
of the UK, France or
Ireland
and be a future or existing French property owner
or visit France on a
regular
basis. You must also not be an undischarged
bankrupt or have any CCJs.
The
account opening can be done entirely
by post and there is no need to
be
able
to speak French.
Account opening (and
closure) is
free and there is a monthly maintenance
fee
(at the time of writing) of only
€0.55
per month. If the account remains unused
for
any 12 month period then a charge of
€51/year
is levied.
Deposits
to your account can be made by cheque,
bank transfer or travellers
cheques. You also receive free electronic
and monthly
paper statements with
the
option of receiving paper statements
on a more frequent basis for a
fee
of
€1.07.
The
account also comes with full Internet access
and various payment cards
are available
including
deferred and non-deferred Mastercard
(& Visa) debit
cards.
A
cheque book can also be issued with
the account and direct debits can be set
up
at
a cost of €9.

It
must be completed correctly and returned
with a certified copy of your
passport,
two certified proofs of address and
a bankers reference.
