Account
This
is an offshore bank account from
Santander and is based in Jersey.
It
can be opened as a sterling, US dollar
or euro account or as
a multicurrency account.
It
comes with a Visa gold card as standard
which can be upgraded to either a Platinum
card
or Visa Infinite card. The payment
card is deferred in that any pending
payments
on
the card are charged at
the end of the month for interest purposes.
At
least £5000, US$7500 or 7500 Euro respectively
is required to open the account.
If
the balance should fall below these
amounts then monthly charges are applicable.
A
sterling cheque book is also available
for use with the sterling account.
This
account was also offered previously
by Abbey International which has since
been
rebranded
as
Santander Private Banking since Santander
took over Abbey National
plc
in
2004.
